Thread 9 of 9 | | Thread Starter | | | FlaglerMuseum | New Paradox UserHelp!!! I am a new Paradox user and I am not a programmer or a techie. I've been working here for 6 months and have been able to figure out how to create basic forms and reports but I'm trying to find training or manuals that will get me to the next level. Any suggestions? Thanks. | 9 replies. Last post: | Sam.S | I found the manual for Borland's paradox 7.5 (win 95) to be a great reference. Maybe you can find it on eBay.

Thread 4 of 9 | | Thread Starter | | | tsutton67 | The Online BookI have greatly appreciated the ability to view this book, especially considering it's scarce availbility. This book has saved my job. I only heard of and started working in Paradox 10 a month ago and thanks to the online book I may have a new career angle. I have always been an administrative assistant and loved to toy with Access databases, so I was given a chance to be a systems analyst and just solely work on redesigning a database. To my horror, when I was told it was a Paradox database, I didn't panic YET, I went looking for a Paradox book then I paniced. I then went online and found Prestwood. I'm also VERY please with the quick responses to messages posted here. Thanks, Prestwood! | 1 Reply: | rt | Well, you've come to the right place as there are some bright cookies here you can usually find an answer to most Paradox problems , , Enjoy. |

Thread 3 of 9 | | Thread Starter | | | marylane | Book example & object explorerI'm new to ObjectPal and all object-based languages (I worked with Pdx Pal/Dos for several years). It's hard on me but I'm chipping away. Some help with an example from the book (Prestwood, Power Programming) would be much appreciated. I downloaded the code for the examples from this website, and put the example "M-enter.fsl", referred to in Chapter 9, into the Samples folder. It works as advertised, specifically showing the message "This button closes the form" whenever the mouse moves over the button. But I cannot find, within Object Explorer, where the code for the "mouseEnter" and "mouseExit" methods & messages are entered, except in the text field of some boxes that do not seem to be involved with the button., , Can someone please give me a clue?, , Thanks -, , Mary | 1 Reply: | Dan | Look in the mouse enter and mouseexit events for the button in question. An alternative is to use the ctrl+z and look for the phrase that is displaied in the message box. You may have been looking on the methods tab of the object browser. Just another thought you may want to check the Developer setting under the tool menu option. This allows you to select a objectPal level make sure advanced is selected. |

Thread 2 of 9 | | Thread Starter | | | Julia Sager | Me too -someone help us!I have a similar problem. The report decides on what appears to be a random basis how much of a memo field will get printed. It happens whether the field is in a text box container or in a table frame. This is a serious problem to me, and I'm desperately hoping for an answer. | 1 Reply: | Rick Carter | A little more information might help, like which other message you're referring to, what version of Paradox, etc., Anyway, if I understand you correctly, right-click your memo field on the report, and choose the property "complete display." |
