I've heard rumors that the next version of Windows will be 64-bit. Furthermore, it will have a 32-bit and 16-bit layer / interpretor for backword compatibility.

I've also heard that Microsoft is going to give it a new name (to avoid law suits) and change the way it works so it isn't backward compatible to Windows. This means they're also rewritting all of their software too.
