So what the heck is this "My Prestwood" account anyway, and is it something I would want? I absoultely refused to use the "My Computer" icon for years because I hated the cutesy name, and still refuse to put my data files in "My Files."

The problem is, you're fighting a loosing battle. This isn't a Microsoft thing, it evolved straight from the internet. Not only do Yahoo, Microsoft, and nearly every Portal use MyWhatever, but so do many major corporations including Oracle, Sun, Netscape, and IBM.
Granted, there are a few notable exceptions including Borland and Novell who just use "Developers".

I am afraid folks that "My Views" are with Rick, as anything that begins with "My..." is in "My Opinion" so gratingly (new word) naff as to drive one of sensitive thoughts and words to relegate it to "My Kiddies Korner" and never to be used ....
So grab the bull by the what-nots , leave Mr Gates in "My Cutey Land" and let's come up with meaningful title - I'll kick it off with the obvious just plain old - Member Accounts. rt
Think more along the lines of "My Yahoo", rather than "My Computer". If you want to get access to the vast mailing lists and forums on Yahoo Groups, you need a "My Yahoo" account.
Just the same with the Prestwood Knowledge Base, technical articles, newsletter archives, etc. on our site. And, as an added bonus, as a "My Prestwood" member, you can submit technical articles, knowledge base articles, and even be included in our monthly eMagazine!
The "My prestwood" account costs you nothing - and unlike "My Yahoo" or "My MSN", it isn't a front for direct marketing lists! It's just another resource for developers and frequenters of the Prestwood Message Boards.
So, how soon will we see your new "My Prestwood" account...
