hello, This must be an oversight(or Alzhiemers) on my part.
How do I open a query using ObjectPAL and display it in the query editor so that I can modify?
For a table I do the following
var t string endvar
t = editTableList ; (THIS IS A NAME FROM LIST OF TABLE NAMES)
dlgRestructure (t)

no clue.. still thinking about.. tried everything under Edit, Design, Open, etc.. don't know that I've ever tried to do that.. I've made forms where the user can enter parameters, then I validate, then I plug into a query.. but I don't know how to pull it up, visible, in code

You create your query and put it into code by selecting PasteFrom while in an edit window

Thanks Jay, but you misunderstood the question. I dont need the text, I need the designer to open and display for a query that was pre-designed and saved.
In OPAL,
var
Q Query
endvar
q.readfromfile("c:\\temp\\somequery.qbe")
; now, i want
q.displaydesigner() or q.restructure(), or menuaction.newquery(q) or any other of things I haven't found
thanks,
Jeff
