Hello,

I have a particular mailing label report that just started to behave oddly:

When I print the report, the result looks like this:

GOOD LABEL 1
BLANK LABEL EJECTED
GOOD LABEL 2
BLANK LABEL EJECTED
GOOD LABEL 3
BLANK LABEL EJECTED

To diagnose the problem, I viewed the report on screen, and it displayed LABEL 1.

I clicked to view the next page, and expected to see a blank label, but instead, LABEL 2 appeared.

As I clicked along, each label displayed in sequence properly, with no blank pages.

So, when scrolling, all looks fine, but when printing, I get the alternation with blanks as I have described.

What would be causing that situation, and how can I fix it?

Many thanks,

Lothar

is it a normal multi-record report, or is it a file that got compiled by your code?

just in case the report file got hosed, have you tried a backup of the report file?

have you checked the data itself, to see if the table for the report has weird records in it?

just stray thoughts..

my stray thought...    Could the PRINTER be set to a physical paper(label) size smaller than the printed label,  causing it to eject the blank labels with the excess page length/width?

How does it respond if you print to PDF?

yes, paper size mis-match can always do strange things

if you kick it to pdf first, you can see what's coming, before you start.. but with something like labels, that might get weird, too, cuz that's not normal paper size
