I want to be able to use objectpal to automate grabbing a text file from an FTP site from within paradox in Windows10 with no user intervention.
I have been appraoching it from using a logical drive assigned to the FTP location, but I am having trouble automating the drive setup because Windows requires me setup the logical drive as an administrator.
What I mean by that is I can setup a logical drive using a command line FTPUse, but I have to right click the command executeable and choose run as admin. Being signed in as an admin isn't good enough. I have not found a way to turn off the run as admin requirement. And this is not as automated as I want it to be.
I have seen descripotions of using the 'mapped drive' option in MSexplorer to make a network location for the FTP and then a logical drive, but I have not been able to make that work.
The end goal is to get a known file name from a known file location on an FTP copied to a filesystem location accessible with a objectpal filesystem statement with no user intervention.
My existing setup works except it requires user intervention to open the logical drive access to the FTP location.
Is there a command line syntax that I could use with an execute() statement?
Is there an html statement I could use fire through IExplr or chrome to automatically download the file?
Any other bright ideas?
You want coffee? I could write a paradox app for that...

no, Delphi has nothing directly to do with Paradox.. it's C+ based.. it came from Borland, back in the day, and it works well with Paradox tables and the BDE
