Is the following scenario feasible:

  1. Keep the existing PARADOX application, but move the data from *.db to MS-SQL
  2. Re-program PARADOX-Forms etc. in Access step by step and use the MS-SQL Data in parallel with PARADOX and Access

If this is an option, who can support us?

Michael,

Step 1 is definitely feasible, and it seems like a lot of Pdox developers did this 10 or so years ago.  At this point, I would avoid coding anything in Access.  If you are porting to another platform, use one that isn't 20 years old.

But, the main question you have to resolve is it easier to do step 1, or just rewrite the app in a platform that has a future.  Neither Paradox or Access are viable long-term.

HTH,

Jim Moseley

Thank you, Jim!

This still leaves me with the question who could give us support for step 1.

Does Prestwood offer such support services?

Cheers,

Michael
