new problems for me with windows 8,  my copy of paradox seems to no n longer want to connect to my printer and the program shuts down when I try to use.  All other programs still print, just not paradox 11.    I also get An App Crash note of Paradox32.exe.  32 bit computer ? when I try to print.   can someone point me in the direction to fix.

I have found that some drivers are incompatible with parardox.  If you have an incompatible driver as the Windows default, Paradox cannot switch away from it.  I use a PDFCreator driver as my default known good driver.  If you have a driver that you know works, make sure to have that set as the windows default before opening paradox and trouble shoot from there.  That would be my first approach.

sounds easy,  My printer works for all other programs, just stopped for paradox.  If I try to set or look at printer settings my Paradox program crashes.   How do I set in Paradox a defaullt printer driver.   In my control panel I have deleted then added back in my printer and current driver, but still no luck with Paradox.  Windows 8 is tough,  fear if I go to windows 10 things will get worse.

That you can't look at the printer setup in paradox definitely makes me think paradox is unable to handle the current printer driver.  I am assuming that's the windows default print driver.

To trouble shoot this, I would probably look for a very basic print driver (even if it is for a printer you don't have).  If you can still get it for windows 8, the old HP IIP or similar driver was pretty bomb proof for me on XP machines.  And it would drive virtually any monochrome laser printer.  I am not using Windows 8 anywhere as a production environment, so I don't know any specific drivers for Win8.  I have a HP P2055DN working with paradox on a 2012 R2 server, you might try that to see if you can prove to yourself the driver combination is the problem.

I suspect that your windows default printer is the problem and trying different printer drivers as the windows default.  It may be a certain amount of hunt peck on that.  But that is where I would start.

Your original sounds like you had this printer working in paradox at one time.  How long ago was that?  What has changed in the meantime? What is the actual driver selected as the windows default?

Paradox was printing a few weeks back,  it was probalby an auto windows update that overwrote my good printer driver.  I have two computers  that run paradox,  one has windows 10 and the other is windows 8.   The windows 10 machine has no problem printing to my one printer.  However the windows 8 machine does not print to the same printer ?  Access and other software prints,  just Paradox will not, it crashes.

I have experienced similar issues after installing Office 365 suite. Proved it by un/re installing both programs in a test environment. Everytime Office went in, PDox had printer change issues. Now I have to close PDox client, change printer, and reopen client software.  Win 8.1/PDox7/32
