You would think that after paying a couple hundred thousand dollars for a piece of software that the company would update their product for free.

Michael,
I contacted Corel Customer Support about SP4 for Paradox 9, standard edition, and was told that I can only get it if I have a developers edition. Where did you get your information?
Also I am still waiting for a solution to my very old many-many problem that I wrote about I do not know when. Maybe you remember: "Photographs/boats and owners". I think you said something about putting in 10 cents worth. (I have moved and got myself a new computer which is giving me trouble, so nothing much has been done the last months)
Regards

Sorry, no. It doesn't looklike this is on the cards, at least until after WPO/2K++ ships.

Sorry.

There _could_ be one after that point, bit only if TPTB at CORL realize that this is significant. {Hint, hint}

According to a newsgroup posting from Dan Adler (reproduced below), the decision was made to send a complete Office Pro CD (SP 4) to any licensed Paradox 9 user.

So, either the Corel rep you contacted was not aware of the policy, or Corel decided to renege on the deal. You might want to try contacting Dan Adler at Corel.

Because we ran out of resources and time. If you remember, SP4 shipped
shortly after we laid off many employees, which was followed by many
others leaving the company (which is not unusual after a layoff). On top
of that, we needed to start work on WP Office 10, which was rather
behind schedule.

I was, however, able to arrange for anyone who needed SP4 and who had
not bought the suite to get a suite CD. That's a fairly large concession
for us to make, since we're basically handing out the whole suite for
free.

Any new info on the Runtime update?

Will designing applications in the updated Paradox 9 pose a problem when running these applications in the older version of Runtime?
