Paradox Experts Fails to Launch

Paradox Experts Fails to Launch in Paradox Setup, Vista, etc. topic (part of our Corel Paradox / ObjectPAL Coding group).

When I try to launch Experts in Paradox 11 the following error message is displayed --

"A library or table required to run the experts could not be opened. The Paradox error message is %1"

How do I correct this so experts will run the documentation feature?

I have reinstalled but still get the error.

Now I've run into another problem with Experts.

Again, attempting to launch Expers in Paradox 11.

Now the message is "ErrorCode1:peOk," then, on the line below "ErrorMessage1:"

Any suggestions on how to get past this so I can run the documentation expert? I've done one reinstall but still get the error. SP1 and SP2 for WP11 have been installed, also the hotpatch for Paradox 11 printing problems.

Thanks for any help offered.

We also have this problem on WIn2000 PC┤s where Paradox 9-10 has run before. I newly installed Paradox 11 on a ┤fresh┤ XP and Expert runs correctly. So either its a Win2000 problem or more likely a register-problem from the older versions. Table-repair also dosen┤t work, but on the XP it dos.

Sounds like your pdxExperts alias isn't defined.

Define it, and save, and you should be good to go.

You may be able to set & save by:

On Tools,Settings,Preference, go to the experts tab make sure Run Welcome Expert is checked then quit out of paradox.

Restart Paradox, then go to the Alias Manager and save.

Otherwise, you may need to set up the alias and path manually.

For Paradox 10, I think the Experts directory is
"C:\Program Files\Corel\WordPerfect Office 2002\Paradox\Experts"

Not sure about 11.
