Professional Resume Service
cheddar
Ok so being a developer does not always give one the skills to write an effective resume. Can anybody recomend a service to craft a good professional (technical) resume? I've been writing my own for years and I think my version just doesn't accurately express my experience. Thanks in advance.

Well, that's an interesting question. Have you posted your resume to our online resume database: My Resume - http://www.prestwood.com/aspsuite/resumedb/myresume.asp If you post it there, then you can put a link here and we'll all take a look and give you free advice!

, so some things have had to slip!
I don't know why none of the other moderators haven't chimed in?!

Here is a suggestion. Take it with a grain of salt because, overall, your resume is good as is. There is no way that someone is fully qualified and up to date with C#, VB, VB.Net, C++, and Java. I would stress which 1 or 2 languages are your "current" specialty and then add, also proficient in...or, familiar with... Do the same for the other areas under technical skills.

I would keep it in the same area. Just make it clear which is your current specialty or specialties.

I am going to have to tweak the format quite a bit to make it look nice in html. Here is the output from a Word Save As Html and can be seen here: http://www.ericneff.com/ericneffresume.html Thanks again for offering to review and offer your opinion.

No problem whatsoever. I don't want you to think I expect or think I deserve an answer on this. I know you're busy and I appreciate your time. It just seemed awfully quiet and my ego was taking a serious beating.

The grim smiley had me worried, for a second there I was contemplating a career in the food service industry or maybe a job in a jennifer lopez movie (how hard could that be?).

would you recommend placing these (the non current skills) somewhere else in the document? The reason they are there in the first place is to avoid being discarded by keyword parsers. I would hate to be dropped out of consideration because a michine decided I didn't have any c++ experience.
