I'd suggest string(sono) and string(solno), but errorshow() would fire if lack of that was the problem

Visual FoxPro uses the & character for that sort of thing. Is there a Paradox equivalent?
Edit: Fount it - it's called dereferencing, eg
sField = "Name" ;Assign a field name to the variable., view(tcCustomer.(sField)); Dereference the variable using parentheses.

I took your code and refined it to my purposed. No arrays for me, so I was able to simplify it, and in the end it wound up working better than I actually had planned! (Was able to sort just by selecting the drop-down menu item, didn't need a separate button, like I thought I would)
This worked very well, and I thank you.

I have the following code with a form;
exportASCIIVar(":RSA:Mailing Emails.db",":RSA:Reports\\Temporary Mail List.csv", "\t","\"",False,True), , MsgInfo("Well Done","The E Mail List for "+s+" has been updated.")
S has been populated before this point, but I would like to replace "Temporary Mail List.csv" with a file name made up of the value of s, plus ".csv"
Does anyone have any suggestion?
| 1 Reply: |  Steven.G | s = ":RSA:Reports\\Temporary Mail List.csv"
exportASCIIVar(":RSA:Mailing Emails.db",s, "\t","\"",False,True)
if that's not what you meant, you'll have to explain differently

msgInfo( "", m.( "f" + string(i) ) )
endFor
Where the variable name is constructed from its parts. The syntax for the evaluation here is wrong. What's the correct way?

 davidc | Search multiple ScriptsHowdy,
Is there a way to search for something (a variable name, for example) across multiple scripts (and each section of those scripts, like run, var, proc, etc.)?
In the ideal world, I'd like the output to be something like:
script1.ssl proc 1732 the line of code with the search phrase
I suppose I might have to write my own script to do it - but was hoping for something easier.
(My big project has code split across several scripts because of the size limitations built-in to Paradox.)
Thanks,
David

SQLVar = SQL
SELECT *

WHERE
(FechaCita < '01/18/2013')

SQLVar.ExecuteSQL (PacData, TempFile)
but if I try to use a variable for the date comparison it gives me an error (Type mismatch in expression):
FechaMaxS = "18/01/2013"
SQLVar = SQL
SELECT *
FROM ~dbTable
WHERE
(FechaCita < ~FechaMaxS )
endSQL
I also tried the following but it gives the same error:
SQLVar = SQL
SELECT *
FROM ~dbTable
WHERE
(FechaCita < CAST(~FechaMaxS AS DATE) )
endSQL
Could anyone tell me the correct syntax? Thanks

FechaMaxD = Date(1, 18, 2013)
SQLVar = SQL
SELECT *

endSQL
And it still returns the same error

 OzPaul | Align text in a text object with embedded fieldsI have always had a problem with this and it has come up again so time to ask, am I missing something?
I have a text object in a report with fixed wording and two embedded fields containing variable information. Fonts are all the same formatting (Arial 8 Regular) but the alignment between the fixed text and the embedded text is never correct in the final print out. The embedded fields align OK but not with the fixed text.... The result does not look neat. So am I missing something? Thaks, Paul.
| 1 Reply: | OzPaul | Well I have found a solution which works! If I create an unbound calculated field which combines the fixed text plus the field values, with spaces inbetween, all is displayed in a pleasing manner with no misalignments. eg: "The response to flicker at 30c/s was " +[:NEUROLOG:ERGLIGHT.FLICKERSATUN]+" "+[:NEUROLOG:ERGLIGHT.FLICKER]. Shame the simpler approach doesn't achieve this!

Can anyone tell me why the following header produces "Error: Type expected" on the DynArray variable? I'm using Paradox 11 but I tried it on another machine with Paradox 9 and it gave me the same error.

,
Thanks
| 1 Reply: | Dan | You cant use arrays directly in a header. You first have to declare a type visible to the header. For example you could use the following in the Form type method
Type
darAnytype = dynarray[]anytype
endType
then your header would look like this
method CalcTNRT ( N1P1Data darAnyType) Logical
