I have used graphic readfromfile for years successfully in WinXP, Win7 and, until recently, Win10.  All of a sudden, I get "Cannot read file".  It had worked perfectly until a Win10 update.  Corel support is unresponsive.  Desperate at this point.  Does anyone have a work-around suggestion? Thanks. Bob

Keeping graphics in Pdox table
I am trying to get graphics data into a table - envision a Movie database and I want to include DVD art into the table.  I am able to get the graphic into the clipboard and then paste it into the table.  Everything appears to be fine until I leave that record - then the graphics that I could previously see is no more.  I've tried everything that I can think of within native Pdox and nothing helps.  Any ideas?  Thanks.

I use another table where graphics are saved and used on the same form with no problem. Is there a limitation on BMP size or any other specification which needs to be ahered to? Cheers Bill

2 gig, I think.. maybe 256 meg.. at the time, 2002, it didn't matter, it was an absurd number :-) in general, for MANY reasons, it is far better to use a text field, save the link to the real file, and use a "viewer" process to open whatever it may be.. excel will open an excel file, the windows viewer will open pics, etc

Possible to bind a blank form to a table?
I'm pretty new to Paradox, using Paradox 10., , I'm curious whether you have to use an expert to bind a form to table, or whether you can create a blank form and then modify the table property. , , The table property of a blank form has a little lock graphic by it, which I assume means it's locked or readonly. So is there any way to modify it? Or must I create a form with an expert?, , Oh, I also realize I can create the form using a Data Model and get a blank form bound to a table., , But what I'm curious about is whether I can change the data source in the properties menus directly. Seems like I should be able to. But I can't figure out how., , Thanks,, , Herb Sitz

Filebrowser & Files Types
I'm Using Paradox 9 under Win 7 Pro (x64) and have Created a File Finder which Iterates through a selected Directory for a (User) given file Type! BUT THE PROBLEM IS I CAN ONLY USE ONE FILE TYPE TO SEARCH FOR! FileBrowseFileTypes Constants allow you to specify Multiple File Types as in fbGraphics. I need one for VIDEO - eg fbVideo. Is it possible to Setup a New Constant, as in "Video (*.mp4, *.flv, *.mov)" etc. If its NOT possible to SetUp a fbVideo Constant, Whats the best way to pass FileBrowser Multiple File Types? Either way, I Can't find anything on the web etc etc that would Help! Another Possible solution maybe using an API ?? Cheers

can't paste images in windows server 2008
Howdy, So here's the setup: -data server (windows 2003):holds all of our database files, forms, reports,... -terminal server (windows 2000):used to be used for all staff, now used for  administration staff and has a copy of paradox 10. -terminal server (windows 2008):used for some admin staff and almost all sales  staff and has a copy of paradox 10. Users on the 2008 server can no longer paste pictures to a graphic field without the UAC making a big fuss. I can't find a way to mark the executable CDRCONV.EXE as an innocous process and our sys admin only knows how to add new users to the system, even simple printing problems are being farmed out. Does anybody know how to cure this ? Another small problem: how do I stop the 'Paradox for windows has stopped working' dialog box from coming up every time someone closes down Paradox. Thanks Eric

hi, does anyone know, how to fix the following, problem?, , I have a Matrox Millennium G550 graphics card and use Borland Delphi 4.0. I have the newest driver and the newest Delphi version. The problem is, that for example the "Start (in engl. i think it should be RUN) - Parameter" - window is so small, that i cant type in some parameters. But the window isnt resizeable. I just can see the register "local" and a button "load". Thats in some other Delphi-Menues too ... , , If i start windows in "Protected Mode (i hope thats the name it uses in engl.) - you know F8 and then "Protected Mode" (for minimal driver-use) - you see the Parameter-Window in full size. (windows then uses the "standard-vga"-graphics-driver). Thats why i think, that the problem is with the Matrox Millennium G550., , Does anyone know how to fix this problem?, , I hope my english is well enough, too be understandable ..., , greets, necron

Graphics problem
Okay guys, I'm stumped. I have a form with a graphic object on it. I want the object to be the correct size for the image, and I want the underlying page to be about the same size as the object. This would give me a 'floating' window that is the correct size for any image being displayed. I have no trouble with coding the basic behavior of displaying the graphic, but I cannot determine how to obtain the full size (twipps x twipps) of the image so that I can set the size property of the object and the page.

You could always install ACDsee for her. It's got an excelent preview mode that makes up its own thumbnails on te fly. Play with it a bit, then set up her. I got it from a friend who's a porno afficionado - but I've found it works fine for non-porn too. hehe. Of course there's no database in there but have a look at it any how. Oh and you can set it to either shrink to fit, strech to fit or both, or neither.

I need help!!!!!!!!! Toolbars in Paradox.
Hi there, I need some help with a problem i am having with toolbars within Paradox 8. I have been asked to create a new toolbar with specified graphics. I believe I know how to get custom graphics into the toolbars, however, I have also been asked to make these buttons open certain forms by pressing on them. It is my understanding that you can only assign predetermined actions to buttons, such as menuFileOpen. However, I want these buttons to open a particular form. Is this possible or is there another way to do this. Can someone help?

Thanks for your help, but I was able to find away around it. Within the toolbar options I assigned the button the menuAlignRight, then within the menuAction method I disabled the default for that option and put instead to open a particular form. Your idea was ok if I simply wanted to open a form but I wanted to open a particular form and I found that this way does it. Thanks anyway.

Sounds like a programming class assignment. Please make an attempt to write the code yourself, and ask us a specific question when you're stuck.
