I know this is strange, but i am new to putting databases to the web. I have a two part question. How can I get Data from my web form to my paradox database and vice versa. Can I use a paradox script to access this info. If so how., , Sorry for being a newbie. Allen Troxell has helped me big style with a program near completion, users are able to use a pushButton to query their results and send them to me on email. Ultimately I would like to do this to a website (as yet not set up ). Before completion, what would be necesary for me to cover eventualities. ? can I set up a pushButton in the same way I did for Email ? I know nothing about web matters,, Paul Castelow, New Zealand. :)

I am having trouble printing to a PDF driver unless I go out of paradox - change my default printer to the PDF Writer and then go back in. If I change the printer from the Print Dialoge box the PDF file is all messed up., , I can change the printer through code in the full Paradox version - but when this same code is run on a Runtime version - I get the same jumbled results. Any ideas?, , Using P9 with sp3 on runtime and full, Adobe Acrobat 5.0

Trying to add a numeric field and an alphanumeric field in a query. Example, a table has two fields. Field1 is a number and field2 is a string. Trying to use the calc operator with example elements does not seem to work. Snytax I used is, , Field1 Field2, f1 f2, calc f1+f2, , Of course f1 and f2 are set as example elements. Using Paradox 9 I get no error messages, the query simply does not run. What do I need to change?, Thanks for any help.

Has anyone else tried this software? I've heard previous versions recommended many times, but I just got the current version (6.0) and I'm having a _lot_ of issues with it. I've sent an email to them about it - waiting for a response. I'd be happy to provide specifics of the issues if it would be helpful.

Based in part on information from this board, I bit the bullet and upgraded to WP Office Pro 2020 from Version 8. The installation went smoothly, but when I opened Paradox it was still Version 11. Comparing it to my laptop, it's exactly the same release, 11.0.0.676! I then uninstalled and reinstalled Paradox with the same result. Did I do something wrong? Is there a newer version of Paradox, and if so why don't the update program install it? If this is true, then Corel is ripping off customers — I could have saved $100 by purchasing the standard upgrade instead of the Pro version (Paradox being the only difference, I think).

I'm putting out some feelers with all of you, my long time Paradox colleagues, whom have loved Paradox for these many years, but feel that maybe it's time to start the long anticipated migration out of Paradox. At this time I have absolutely no idea as to what I'd like to move to.  We have a legacy product all built in Paradox 10 and primarily using Windows XP at this time.  I'm entertaining the idea of developing  in Windows 7 as there's a ticking time bomb on the availability of XP. Can any of you recommend different software development environments/languages that should be looked at?  Ease of migration is one factor, but not the decision maker. Been using paradox ocx as web server for over 10 yrs on server with windows server 2003(?).  Recently purchased new server.  Have Windows Server 2008 on it.  Migrated entire data and web info from old to new.  Cleaned up and tested all web pages on new server using localhost.  localhost:8081 hits paradox ocx and creates web pages perfectly. Now trying to webname:8081 to hit paradox and not working.  Probably bad description, I'm no good on the server side. Any ideas.  Why does local host see the 8081 port in the ocx but not the webname:8081? Help

Having used Paradox 7 on win95 thru to win 98, XP, and Win7 using the compatability tab making it WinNT with SP4 all was well, i have just installed Win8 on a text machine, and installed Pdx 7 - sadly there is no compatability drop down for WinNT SP4 - so what do i do know. The program opens, but when i go to select my data source it is telling me (or rather not allowing me to select my database on account of the OK button being greyed out). When i open Pdx direct, and then go to the Alias Manager, to manually configure to select my d/base the OK button is still grayed out. Is it easy to upgrade to Corel Paradox 11 - or does it mean re-writing loads of stuff to allow the database to actually work.. Please help.. Luckily i still have (and my clients) still are using Windows 7 or lower. M!chael
