Language Reference topic (classic post):
PHP Custom Function (function)
by Mike Prestwood

PHP uses functions and loosely typed parameters. Function definitions can come before or after their usage so my preference when mixing PHP in with a mostly HTML page is to put the functions after the </html> tag.

 Monthly PHP Lesson
Beginners Corner Topic:
Code Snippet of the Month

Declare associative array with initial known values. You can also add to associative array. (You can just assign values without ever declaring it too!)

$prices = array( 'Tires'=>100, 'Spark Plugs'=>4 );

$prices['Oil'] = 10;

echo "Tires=" . $prices['Tires'] . "<br>";

echo "Oil=" . $prices['Oil'] . "<br>";
Education (Audio/Video) Topic:
Resource Link of the Month: Audio: David I on GeekSpeak

Hear David I discuss software development on a nationally syndicated radio show. I posted this to the PHP group because he focused a bit on Delphi for PHP and PHP in general.
