Computer Industry:
DOL was spending $27 million running web job board
Posted 13 years ago on 6/13/2007
Summary: DOL's America's Job Bank website is shutting down on June 20th, citing operating costs as high as $27 milllion per year!
Tags: perm , adj , dol

This is absurd: Operating costs are mostly wages - sure there is some hardware and software. But $27 million would easily employ 300 people.

 See article here:

Perhaps it's good riddance: The article reveals that many of the posts do not represent actual openings, but rather are just posted to comply with "good faith" recruiting statutes. This is similar to the "good faith" of the PERM fake job ads that run each Sunday in the Sacramento Bee, and most major newspapers across the country:

(I'd wager $1000 that Prestwood Software could run the AJB website for a fraction of what DOL was waisting on it.)

I'm sure we could do it for less than a million. Easily!
