Summary: If you're looking for a replacement for Courier when editing ObjectPAL code, consider Consolas. The Microsoft Consolas Font Family is a set of highly legible fonts designed for ClearType. It is intended for use in programming environments and other circumstances where a monospaced font is specified. This installation package will set the default font for Visual Studio to Consolas, but if you don't have Visual Studio installed, it just skips that process without error.

Wes Peterson first suggested this font here at Prestwood Software with his Consolas - The Best Fixed Width Font! KB article. We also use it with most our other development tools including Delphi and Visual Studio.Net projects.

After you download and install this font, select Tools | Settings | Developer Settings from within Paradox. Then select the Display tab. In the Font panel, I like to use the Consolas font rather than the default font of Courier.

Here is a screen shot of Courier in the ObjectPAL editor:

Now take a look at Consolas in the ObjectPAL editor on Windows Vista (it looks good on XP too). Consolas is much easier on the eyes and if you code for 40+ hours per week, it's a must!
