3. Paradox ObjectPAL Dormant Customer Ordering Trend Report (Old and New Versions)

This article describes a Paradox ObjectPAL ordering trend reporting program I made that accepts a purchase order date range and a non-purchase order date range. It will report customers who bought during the purchase time period, but not during the non-purchase time period. There are 2 versions of this report. The older version uses only ObjectPAL Tcursors to perform the processing. The newer one incorporates programmatically executed queries in addition to Tcursors. The purpose of this report is to reveal those customers with declining sales.

4. How I Generate a List of Top Customers for a Specific Sales Representative

This is a useful report I made using the Paradox ObjectPAL coding to create a listing of top customers for a specific sales representative along with an order date range input. It’s a good insight into who your sales people are selling to and how much in a given time period.

good to know.. thanks.. making your own "next number" process is a different way to look at your app, but it's very flexible.. and it doesn't break as easily as an AutoInc

QBE answer table not populated with data
I have a query which I wish to populate a particular table (not the answer table). I have been unable to run this in objectpal. I think it has to do with the tilde variables but i'm not sure. following is my code. The variable are populated correctly so any advise is most appreciated. son = 22013, sol = 1  , qvar = Query Answer: :CaliachData:rptWorkorders.DB , WORKORDERS.db |WKOWONO | WKOPTNO |WKOBAL | WKOUSER | WKOUSE1 | WKOUSE2 | WKOUSER3 | WKOUSER4 |, , |CHECK | CHECK |CHECK | CHECK |CHECK ..~sol | CHECK | CHECK ..~son| CHECK | Endquery ExecuteQBE(qvar), tv.open(":CaliachData:rptWorkorders.DB") Thanks

and errorshow() doen't fire? I'd suggest string(sono) and string(solno), but errorshow() would fire if lack of that was the problem

I don't think there's any way to make a significant change, other than "fastest machine you have".. you can do 1000 loops in a minute.. that seems quite reasonable

Paradox 11 not printing to network printers
I have just re-installed my Paradox 11 on a Windowsx64 laptop and I cannot get it to print reports from Paradox reports themselves. However, they work perfectly if I call them up from a form in objectPAL. When I just try to print in a new Paradox sessionm I get a dialogue box that says: Printer interface setup error/ LCAppPrint Initialize failed!  Then Windows 10 just closes the program. I'm not all that good with finding out where my problem lies. Could anyone point me to some solution, please? Tony

most of the examples I can think of, for my recent apps, the print-to-pdf is being triggered manually.. but others are surely doing it in code, and I'm not seeing other instances of pdf failure being mentioned on the various forums also, Brother printers aren't so "standard" thesee days.. you never know....

Running Paradox 8 and Paradox 11 Concurrently?
We are migrating an application from Paradox 8 to Paradox 11 to run on Windows 10. Some things broke, and still need to be fixed.  Since I haven't written any ObjectPAL code in 20 years this isn't as easy as I had hoped.  We are about 90% functional in Paradox 11, but as we chip away at the other 10% I wonder if it is possible to safely run 8 and 11 simultaneously, meaning to pointing at the same tables at the same time? It appears that anything compiled is version-specific, so we can simply use the uncompiled files until migration is complete, except for a couple of parallel libraries that will need to exist.  If this works we will be able to continue to support the mission-critical pieces on Paradox 8 that are still not working on 11.  My big fear is corrupting the data somehow. I appreciate your thoughts! Steve

Thanks!  We'll give it a try.  It is really just for backup in case we are struggling to get something working on 11, we can use 8 in a pinch as we port over.
