2. The Future of Paradox Blog

If you have an existing Paradox system you can keep using it but you'll need to skip the Vista operating system and either stick with Windows XP or move to Windows 7. Because better tools exist, you may very well want to put a plan together now for converting to another development tool or at least understand what the future is likely to hold. If you're a power-user or researcher working with data, stick with Paradox.

Printer Driver Settings
We have  been running Paradox 11 on Windows 7 for awhile. We have bought new Windows 10 pc‘s and are going through the configuration process. We have a Konica C658 printer. We are running into an issue where Paradox will not pick up the default printer preferences. For example, in the printer driver we have set Paper size = 14.5 x 11 Orientation = Portrait Print Type = 1-Sided Staple = Left Corner But when you print from Paradox, for example instead of Print Type = 1-Sided, we are getting 2-Sided. I know I can set some of these settings via code(I don‘t believe I can set it to staple). But I‘d rather not go back and change this on every form where I print reports. Has anyone run into issues with Paradox not picking up the printer preferences that are set on the printer driver? Oall other apps, such as the Microsoft Office apps, work fine. Thanks, Gary

Paradox 10 and Windows 7 64-bit networked
We've got about 15 client machines and have to start upgrading XP to Windows 7 64 bit. I've been working on Windows 7 32 bit without trouble (except the crash whenever I try to close without saving a new script). Has anyone successfully made this work? Did it work out of the box or did you have to you have to use XP mode?

Windows 10 and Paradox 9
We are currently running Paradox 9 on four PC's with Windows 7 Pro OS without issue.  Because Windows 7 will no longer be supported after Jan 2020; I'm going to give Windows 10 Pro a try on a single client machine on our small network (starting from scratch with an empth HD).  I first need to decide on which Windows 10 Pro version to purchase (i.e. 32-bit or 64-bit).  Also; any information / advise to help in this process would be much appreciated.

file/open the library program/compile file/save simple, and nothing will change.. but.. if the forms scripts and reports are all delivered (fdl not fsl, rdl not rsl, etc), you have to recompile EVERYTHING
