To add an extension, right click on a file, select Properties. On the Carbonite tab, check the Back up files of this type (within folders selected for backup) checkbox. Alternatively, you can specify specific files to back up by right clicking the file and selecting Carbonite | Back This Up.
New users to Carbonite will notice that Carbonite does not backup all extensions by default. For example, your family video files of that last vacation are NOT backed up automatically.

Add Extension to Default List
You can permanently add an extension to the default list easily. Once added, Carbonite will backup that file type within any folder you've selected for backup.
