Suggested Settings
These are the settings we suggest. Most of our Prestwood developers are required to use these settings.
Select Tools | Options. On the Personal tab, check the following:
Show me as "Away" when I'm inactive for ___ minutes.
and set to 3 minutes.
From the General tab, make sure the following are checked:
Automatically keep a history of my conversations
Since we're using messenger for business purposes, it's a good idea to keep a running history to refer to when needed.

Automatically run Messenger when I log on to Windows
Allow Automatic sign in when connected to the Internet
Display alerts when contacts come online
Display alerts when a message is received

Q. Am I charged each time I contact a developer through chat?
A. Yes. Contacting a developer does cost at your regular rate. You can pre-purchase time to get a discount. The one hour minimum does not apply to chat but there is a 15 minute minimum charge per day.
