Q. What do you mean by a "complete package"?
A. Developing a web site is just one third the battle! You must also host and announce your web site. If you don't already have a place to host your web site, all our packages include our world class web hosting setup fees (you pay just a low monthly fee) and first year domain registration. Also included in all of our plans is web site promotion.
Q. What will my web site look like? Will it be unique?
A. You get a professionally designed web site with a unique and modern look and feel that is customized to your business.
Q. How do you know what I want?
A. You must provide content for your web site in text, Word, or WordPerfect formats. This content will be used to create your web site. If you need help deciding what to put in your web site, we can help you on a per hour basis using our Gold Support service.
Q. How do you get images to my web site?
A. We'll scan photos into either gif or jpg format and use them. Optionally, you can provide images in BMP, TIF, JPG or GIF format. For an additional fee we can even photograph any objects including your staff, building, and office using our high quality digital camera (our camera has a high quality Carl Zeis lens).
Q. Why is a good navigation system so important?
A. Your web site represents your business or organization. The navigation system should be easy to use. We base the navigation system of your web site on the provided reference site.
Q. What is a page header and why is it important?
A. We develop your web site using an include page (a common page). Optionally, we can even automatically display the page title so each page has a unique looking header that identifies the page immediately. This can be important because many search engines only use your page titles to search on. By prominently displaying the page title, that ensures we use a good page title for ALL pages.
Q. What is a page footer?
A. Also developed using an include page. The footer includes copyright information, text link versions of the menu for visitors that have turned off graphics, and, if desired, use of our special location script (displays 'where you are' info).
Q. How important is the main home page?
A. The home page we develop for you does not use the header and footer so that we can have more flexibility. This flexibility is needed for the home page because it is the most important page on your web site.
Q. What is the shared server hosting plan?
A. For our Small Business Packages 1-4, we host your website on one of our dedicated shared servers at our offices (right along side our prestwood.com web server). Although these servers are not as feature full as our web hosting plans (which have up to 1,500 clients per server), we do have the freedom to install "any" software as needed.
Q. Do I have to host with Prestwood?
A. No. If you already have hosting, chances are we can use your current plan.
