Transferring "Just" the .MDF Database File If you choose to just "transfer" the .mdf file to us, then follow these steps:
1. Detach the database on the source server.
2. Create a blank database with the exact same name on the destination database.
3. On the destination server, detach the blank database.
4. Move the source .MDF file to the destination server.
5. On the destination server, attach to the "moved" database .MDF file.
