Take Away: Summary of the Prestwood hosting plans Java capabilities.

KB100135

Customers can use Java in a couple of forms on our system.

Client Side

You can develop and run client-side Java applets.

Server Side with our RS Server Farm

You can put a .class files server-side class, through /usr/java/bin/java, as long as the class does not run as a daemon or listen on a port. Servlets are not supported on our system and there are no plans to add this functionality at the present time. This would violate the daemon/port rule above.
